SAM SCHWINDT

Samuel Schwindt’s work plays with the dueling concepts of intimacy and detachment. He sculpts abstractions and contortions with light-activated materials, conveying different stories ranging from the uncanny to the queer. He is a narrator to metonyms and metaphors, such as water and ice, skins, abstracted identities, and reflections of the complicated ego.

Schwindt is from Indianapolis, Indiana, and based now in Chicago IL. He received his BFA in studio art from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2019.
