In January, Nat Soti will be displaying new works from his “Headlines” series of digital collages.   These pieces, collaged from images from Time Magazine, explore the use of images and visual symbols found in the media.

Whether it is the imagery in the advertising or the news stories themselves, the images are always chosen to communicate an idea, a message, or a story.  We assume there is a certain shared understanding of what they mean.  I am interested in playing with that, in using images meant for mass communication to create personal work.
