KENNEDY CENTER PRESIDENT, MICHAEL KAISER SHARES INSIGHTS ON SUCCESSFUL ARTS ORGANIZATIONS
The MacArthur Foundation recently hosted a discussion with Michael Kaiser, the President of the Kennedy Center., who recently completed a 50 state tour of arts organizations around the country. Kaiser shared his insights on building and maintaining successful arts organizations, especially in the current economic climate. This video is over an hour long as it includes a panel discussion with Chicago arts leaders and an audience Q&A, however make sure to check out the first half-hour with Kaiser’s talk.
Among his most interesting insights is the reminder that even in tough economic times, doing great, interesting, compelling art (and not just managing finances) is still the most important thing for any organization.
