Ryan Maher – are we there yet… – 11.04.11 (6-11pm)

are we there yet… is a series based on an accumulative process of painting and drawing filtered layers, creating a visual narrative comprised of representational and abstract forms. The forty foot mural is broken into nine individual panels representing characters discussing aspects of life. The subjects are both universal, autobiographical, and reminiscent of pages in a book. These mixed media assemblages reflect an optimism stemming from his background in surf culture.

Ryan Maher was born in San Diego in 1981. He currently lives and works in Encinitas, CA.
