CAD West | Call for Artists in Residence Fall/Winter 2011

Awesome Space + Artists Community = Your New Studio

The Chicago Art Department West (www.chicagoartdepartment.org) is an incubator for art and innovation. Our members come from all walks of life but have one thing in common — to help fellow artists, designers, screen printers, photographers, painters, new media artists/entrepreneurs, and/or videographers realize their full creative potential.

CAD West is seeking 2 (two) more artists to join our communal studio space. For only $225/month, with a six-month commitment, you get the following amenities and facilities in our loft-style studio:

  • Personal work/cubicle space
  • 24/7 access to the studio
  • Access to a professional screen-printing facilities (including a large exposure unit and backlit washout sink)
  • Gallery area/space with great lighting
  • Photo studio with full backdrop
  • High speed Internet/WIFI
  • Communal kitchen (sink, microwave, fridge, bathroom)
  • Communal lounge space (for you to host meetings, workshops, etc.)
  • Plenty of free street parking
  • The company of other local artists to bounce ideas off and get invaluable advice from

The studio is located at 1732 W Hubbard St in the West Loop—convenient to the Loop, Wicker Park, Ukrainian Village, West Town and Pilsen. It’s easily accessed from the Pink/Green CTA lines at the Ashland stop, or Ashland or Grand bus routes.

This is a great place to meet seriously creative, obscenely talented, super-friendly artists for networking and collaboration. Join us in changing the face of Chicago’s creative landscape and artistic community!
