freshCAD | Friday May 14, 6-10pm

Spring is here and what better way to breathe new life into than to reveal some fresh faces and work by new and emerging artists!  In the fall of 2009, Chicago Art Department embarked on an ambitious quest to expand their operations by opening a second space dedicated to studio practice. The result was a campaign to recruit new artists and provide them with avenues to grow through exhibition opportunities, access to CAD’s new studio space and programs. freshCAD shows the results of this campaign, highlighting CAD’s new artists and their work. freshCAD will bring together an exciting range of work from sound and video art to painting installation to photography and mixed media.  There will be something to engage everyone and it will be an exciting evening mingling with up and coming Chicago artists!

“freshCAD” features CAD artists Allison Putnam, Alexis J Alma, Agnieszka Furtak, Ryan Miller, Hilesh Patel, Edyta Stepien, Chuck Pryzbyl, Marta Sasinowska, Jennifer Nalbantyan, Mike Wilgus, Ryan Clark, Kirsten Strauss, Jared Wheeler, Devin Breen, and Dietrich McGaffey.
