CADDIES MIKE & MARTA @SALVAGE ONE

Caddie resident and member, Mike Nourse and Marta Sasinowska will exhibit their recent art works at Salvage One.  Exhibit opening this Sunday, March 21st, from 4 to 7 pm, at 1840 W. Hubbard.  Go and show your support!

Below is a description of the show:

The “Looking For: New Works” project asks a simple question: What are you looking for? Mike and Marta ask people who are looking for work,  what they are looking for in life. The answers point to the power of searching and how jobs can lead to a sense of self. Answers are also used to setup scenes that are digitally shot. Images from the photo shoot are mined and ultimately a large-scale portrait is gel-medium transferred onto a found window. With the finished works and exhibition Nourse and Sasinowska present a time and place to feature individuals who are searching, and a forum to discuss the larger questions behind employment.

This exhibition is dedicated to Chris Hales, one of the “Looking For: New Works” subjects who lost a sudden battle with cancer recently. Chris was a widely-respected Chicago artist, DJ, and musician and will be missed by all who knew him.

Salvage One hours are Friday 11am-6pm; Saturday 9am-5pm; Sunday 11am-5pm. The “Looking For: New Work” Series will be up until April 25.

Here is a story from Newcity about the show.
