MAYA ORTIZ

Maya Ortiz Saucedo is an artist and curator from Chicago, IL. Rooted in a critical perspective of the adoption complex, their practice considers the geography of generational space and its intersections with the internal body archive. Recently, they have exhibited at the National Museum of Mexican Art and SITE Galleries and curated exhibitions at EXPO Chicago and SAIC Galleries. They received a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and recently received a Dual Masters in Modern & Contemporary Art History and Arts Administration & Policy from SAIC. They are currently the Andrew W. Mellon Permanent Collection Curatorial Assistant at the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago, IL.
