Think Tank: Displacement/Immigration
Chicago Art Department is pleased to offer a new (group) program for ten (10) people to respond to the topics of Immigration and Displacement.
This program is free for participants, and will meet from September 17th to December 10th, 2019. This CAD Think Tank program will focus on participants skill sharing talents while researching current events around immigration and displacement issues, local, national, and international. Together the group will create an object, performance, talk, poster design, publication, and/or any other form of shared communication to present the groups’ research and ideas to the larger CAD audience and public. The group will study and/or meet artists or community members doing work around these issues, while aiming to impact shared understanding.
Led by Joseph Josue Mora, this program seeks candidates that meet the following criteria:
- Ages: 18+
- Passionate and personal connection to the topics of Immigration and Displacement
- No degree required
- Committed to the 12 sessions of the program
- Open for potlucks with the group
- Willing to work in group settings
- Willing to meet off site when scheduled
- Willing to lead skill share workshops
